This chart below shows
approximately how many of each box type one would typically
need to
store the amount of items. Storage America carries a complete

- Buy as many as you think you may
need.
- NEVER use boxes that once contained
food, cosmetics or liquor – they have an odor and can attract
rodents.
- Use quality packing materials – duct
tape loses its adhesion in hot or cold temperatures. You may not
know that until a bottom falls out of your box!
- Remember – heavy items go into small
boxes. A large box full of books will require Hercules to lift it
into your truck! Large boxes are great for pillows, stuffed animals,
and other large but light weight stuff. Your back will appreciate
your consideration!
- Stack boxes – of the same size
whenever possible and always place the heaviest on the bottom.
Otherwise the bottom boxes can be crushed and cause an avalanche!
